Birds are more closely related to Tyrannosaurus than Triceratops, so people sometimes say "the birds in your garden are actually dinosaurs!", and I have only one objection to that: taxonomic nomenclature should use the senior synonym. In this case Linnaeus named "Aves" in 1758 before Owen did "Dinosauria" in 1842. Hence, T. rex was actually a very big bird.
